Summary of doctoral thesis: My research project attempts to historically and conceptually analyze, on the basis of the studies of the Pre-Qin Chinese texts, how the mechanic of fa [法] has been developed in Pre-Qin Chinese thought. Through textual and philosophical reconstructions, I employ the approaches of conceptual history and conceptual analysis to trace the semantic and conceptual development of the concept and argue for a framework to demonstrate the conceptual linkage and development between them.
