Summary of doctoral thesis: My thesis investigates the role that the notion of an original or true nature (archaia phusis) of the soul plays in Plato's theory of desire and his ethics in the middle dialogues, and how this is related to the question of what is proper, or belongs (is oikeion) to us.
Other research interests: I am interested in Arabic/Islamic philosophy and have studied Arabic for quite some time. However, I have not yet undertaken specialized research in the area.
